A sample picture

_DSC7407_watermarkedNo great surf today and I really struggled with by old 6'4 Ian Kitching at Tubes. At least there was good company. I'm not sure what the surf did the rest of the arvo, but it wasn't as amazing as expected if you look at the charts. Still looking for a board to borrow until I get my old battered up quiver back.

I thought this is a good pic to use as an example of image quality of my photos.100percent_crop

Click on the thumbnails to enlarge and see the detail. The first one is just there so you can see the overall picture and the second one is to show the definition at full 100% view. I did compress the pics a little for internet at 90% so they are even clearer than what you see on your screen.

I URGENTLY need a new surfboard!

Went for a 20 minute paddle at secrets and decided to bail on it because the wave was just too weak. Shortest surf I've ever had. On my way in, riding a foamy on my belly, I popped one of the fins out and it broke the FCS plug.

I desperately need a board for the next two days because it does seem like we are going to have proper surf and I don't want to spend the next two days working on websites and taking photos of other guys enjoying the surf. If anybody is out there and maybe have a 6'6 or even 6'4 at 2 1/2 inch thick that I can borrow until my board is fixed up I will greatly appreciate it. Please send me an sms, I'll call you back. 083 521 5093. Thanks!

Surfed out!

We had such a shaweet run of shawell yesterday, and I was so stoked to catch the last bit of it and that the East stayed away.

Yesterday's 3 to 4 ft swell was just a faint reminder of the epic cranking waves J-Bay can deliver when things work out. I have these vague memories of pulling into a bomb and seeing small heads on surfboards bobbing down the line as I race past hooting friends and hear the noise of fast moving air gushing past my ears with the taste of sea in my mouth and smell of fresh ozone oozing up my nasal cavaties.
