Some Photo uploads and shark news

The Billabong PRO had a lull all day, and was put on hold until 15:00 when it was finally called off. Conditions were perfect, but the proper waves only came through every 30 to 40 minutes, which would cause a situation of the surfer who gets the wave wins. Let´s rather not go there.

Yesterday afternoon, competition was called off due to the onshore that picked up, and just before that call was made I made my way to Cape St. Francis to do some water shooting. Conditions were very consistent over there. Photos are non edited and there are plenty of bloopers, but a couple of them are in focus and the droplets were not an issue. I was experimenting with different settings on the lens and camera and it was more a recreational shoot than anything else. The water was particularly clear, and one of the shots was taken through the wave with Kelvin in the barrel, gently stroking the wave. I played journo this afternoon when I got sniff that there was a shark attack in East London this morning. There were no details anywhere, so I had make 10 or so phonecalls to get the story and double check facts and I posted something quick on Wavescape.co.za - http://bit.ly/oqGZgD

Tomorrow the swell is supposed to arrive, but the guys from African Waters Scuba is also doing a double tank dive, and I am a little tempted to go for a dive and then come back to the Billabong, instead of hanging out there all day. I do thing, with the predicted wave size for tomorrow, that the divers may get a bit of surge, but looking at how clean the water is at the moment, I can imagine it´s going to be a very nice dive.

Both ways, I´ll see you guys and gals in the water!
