As you all know, I did build my own water housing and it worked perfectly. I did a few shoots with it, until I did not tighten the clamps properly on Saturday during an air show at the Memorial fun day organized by the JBU. (Jbay Boardriders) I did capture a few good photos, but the camera also got wet and my screen fogged up. I serviced the camera as soon as I could, but there are still some things that are wrong. Previously I dropped the camera into the water as a wave washed me of the rocks at Super Tubes during one of the last heats in the Billabong PRO. I decided that this is enough hassles so opted to just go and buy the right equipment. In about a week and a day's time, I am going to get my brand spanking new 10 megapixel DSLR with 12 times optical zoom and mechanical image stabilization. I also ordered a mono pod and some other accessories like extra memory and a battery pack.
Oh. Did I mention that I am getting a EWA marine under water housing rated up to 66ft with the order?
Well.. In the meantime, I am borrowing a good camera and telephoto lens from a good friend of mine until my new gear arrives. Stoked?! You bet I am.
See you in the water.
PS. I have not forgotten about the updates of the last month including the photos from the JBU Fun Day. I will get to it as soon as I have a gap.
