What huge waves?!

I was so desperate for a proper wave today, I took the road to Seal Point at Cape St. Francis. It was glassy and sometimes 4ft and rippable.

Can't say the same for J-Bay though. It was pretty small and hopeful desperates, frustrated hopeful desperados were scratching around for nothing and trying to catch waves that no one should even look at. It took me a while to get used to not surfing with booties, but  I got it after the third wave.

And for those of you that still think we are going to have huge swell, you are going to have to do some driving. Go over to wavescape and read what Spike has to say about it. Basically, the sell direction is too west to bend into J-Bay and it's going right past us. Sure, the open seas are going to have big waves, but we won't be seeing much of those. In Capetown on the other hand, things are going off. I checked the Muizenberg Webcam out today, and the forecast and we're talking tripple overhead swell. I suspect J-Bay is going to be about three foot or waist high.

Let's wait and see.

Yes, even if we don't have waves, I'll still see you in the water. I am just as desperate as you are.

Over.
