I just had to share this with somebody.

I made my mind up about the camera, and just bought it a couple of minutes ago. I needed a cam for a long time now, since the unfortunate water housing leak incident in heavy seas with the previous model. And the winner is...

A Nikon D3.

Why?

1. It's the top camera in the Nikon range apart from the D3x
2. It shoots at least 9 fps continuous
3. It has a full size image sensor @ 12 megapixels.
   
4. It's a real bad ass hard core PRO camera, and magazines will not reject my work anymore due to the lack of detail and resolution in my images as they did with the photos I took with the Panasonic Lumix.

Why not the D3x

1. D3x shoots slower, even though it has more pixels
2. It's overpriced (I don't have the extra money)

Why Nikon? Because it's a Nikon. Next I'll hope to add a Delmar or SPL water housing to it as well as a 200-400VR or 500-F4 lens.

You'll definitely see me sneaking around J-Bay. By the way, I see Supers was really looking pretty today. Too bad that I was still recovering from last weeks flu, otherwise I would have been out there. Winter is on us, and I am sure we are going to have such wonderful times in the horrible holiday and yet amazing surfing weather that only a J-Bay winter can bring.
